The first time I saw this saxophonist play in Brian's Funk Experience Band, I was an immediate fan. Brian performed in Las Vegas in the Chrome Showroom at the Sante Fe Hotel & Casino last night (Friday, Sept. 5) and what a great performance it was! I absolutely love Brian. He is my FAVORITE smooth jazz artist. I met a couple that flew in from Texas to see him. Now those are fans! I met another lady who saw Brian in the late 80's at his very first concert. The September issue of the Smooth Jazz News magazine reports that on August 25, Wayman Tisdale was hospitalized to remove the lower portion of his right leg where a recurrent, cancerous tumor resurfaced. The surgery went well and is expected to eradicate the cancer and his surgeons predict a full and speedy recovery.
